After building a career in commercial banking and financial services, Tony Cortina is taking over The Cleaning Authority serving Eastern Monroe County in New York.
Tony has a bachelor’s degree from Nazareth College of Rochester and earned an MBA from St. John Fisher College. Most of his professional career has been in banking and finance. “I worked as a sales manager and senior consultant for multiple companies and helped coach sales teams to collaboratively achieve their goals,” he said.
More recently, Tony began looking into running his own business using the management and consulting skills he had previously mastered. “I had been looking for a business to buy, but hadn’t explored many concepts when I was introduced to The Cleaning Authority,” Tony said. “Like many people, I didn’t think I’d get into the residential cleaning business. The more time that I spent reviewing the financials with the current franchisee from whom I was buying my territory, the more I wanted to take the leap.”
Tony saw huge opportunity for success with The Cleaning Authority due to the scalability and profitability of the business. The company also stood out to him because of the little inventory, limited investment in fixed assets, and recurring revenue. “With The Cleaning Authority, I’m buying an enterprise, rather than a job. It can be as large or small and as profitable as I make it because of the well-established infrastructure,” Tony said.
Locally, Tony is on the Board of Directors of the Small Business Council of Rochester and the It’s About Caring for Kids organizations. “We work with families who have children that are being treated at Golisano Children’s Hospital and provide financial support when parents need to take time away from work to help their child,” Tony said.
As Tony takes over The Cleaning Authority of Rochester, he plans to hire additional Professional Housecleaners, trainers, and inspectors to meet the needs of their growing customer base.
