Eric and Grety Brix have a full understanding of the quality customer service that is required to run a successful cleaning franchise given their backgrounds. “In my previous career as a professional poker player, I was always staying in hotels when I traveled,” Eric said. “That experience made me fully understand the importance of good customer service and how it goes a long way.”
Grety, who is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, worked as a manager of a hotel in Mexico for many years – which is how the couple met. The husband and wife duo also have worked as restaurant servers since moving to Minnesota, so they are used to dealing with customers.
During Eric’s professional poker playing career he met Phil Diehl, owner of The Cleaning Authority franchise in Des Plaines. “Because I became good friends with Phil, I learned a great deal about The Cleaning Authority and became very interested in becoming a franchisee myself,” Eric said. “I was very impressed by all of the tools, infrastructure, and support that came with the brand. When you combine that with the experience that Grety and I have with customer service, this really is a great fit.”
Eric and Grety are taking over a section of another franchise’s territory servicing many areas around Maplewood and St. Paul. “The existing franchisee has seen a lot of success with over 1,300 customers, so we know the market can have success,” Eric said. “As for the market itself, it is a very diverse area in terms of incomes. There are just as many dual-income households as there are wealthy single-income households. This service can benefit individuals and families in both of those circumstances.”
Eric and Grety are looking forward to starting their next adventure as owners of The Cleaning Authority of Maplewood.
