The Pack family has called the Selma area home for over 30 years. John and Shelia Pack both worked locally, Sheila was a property manager and John managed the nearby Sam's Club. Their son Matt eventually joined his father at Sam's Club, where he worked for 13 years.
After seeing layoffs taking place at Sam’s Club, Matt wanted to try and get ahead of it. His parents had always considered franchising, so they saw this as the opportune time to move forward as a family. “This felt like the right time so we could look forward to some money to have in our retirement all while leaving something for Matt and our children to own and operate,” Shelia said.
The family reached out to a franchise consultant that helped narrow down options. “When I first heard of The Cleaning Authority, I didn’t think it was a fit. But the closer I looked at it and the business model, it was the one on the list that I loved the most and made the most sense,” Matt said. “Seeing how successful other operators were really validated everything for me and piqued my interest.”
As the family opens their business, John will be mostly working in the office, while Matt and Shelia work to build staffing, do inspections, and do in-home estimates.
In the past, the Pack family has been involved with local food banks and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk. They hope they can use their new business to partner with these organizations and give back to their local community.
