Homework Station Tips

While it may seem like summer just started, it won’t be long until the kids are back in school. While it may be relaxing to have your kids out of the house during the day, they’ll be coming home every night with homework, projects, and papers—a whole new cause for stress.

There can be a lot to keep organized, especially when you have multiple kids. We’ve got some great ideas for you to create a productive homework station!

Supplies: First and foremost, you want to be sure your kids’ homework station is stocked with the essentials: Pens, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener, and highlighters. Depending on ages, you could also add scissors, markers, crayons, a calculator, staples, paperclips, or tape.

Magazine File: Add a label that reads “Things to be Signed” to a magazine file to keep papers for you organized. Your kids will know to put any tests or permissions slips right in there for you to check and sign. This will help avoid any of these important papers getting lost.

Calendar: Keep up-to-date on project due dates, tests, field trips, and more. Have each child write in a different color pen or marker to keep track of who has what.

Paper: Keep extra notebooks or scratch paper handy. You never know when they’ll need it!
