March is National Craft Month! For avid crafters, this month means two things: Doing a lot of crafts and Stocking up on supplies from National Craft Month sales. Before you start adding more into your craft room, it’s good to take a step back and organize it. Check out these tips to get your craft room into tip top shape.
Get a Peg Board
Peg boards can be purchased at a Home Improvement store. Hang one on the wall as a way to hang your tools: scissors, tape, tape measures, stencils, and more. This will be provide a way to keep your most needed and used items right out in the open, but placed in a clean way. You can even put a nice frame around it to make it extra pretty.
Keep Thread from Tangling Together
Get a wood board and hammer some nails just slightly into the board at an upward angle. Once complete, you can slide a spool of thread onto each nail.
Store Your Paint
An old, used spice rack works perfectly to store your small paint bottles in.
File Your Fabric
Cut file folders down the middle so that each one becomes a standalone piece of paper. Drape fabric over top of each file sheet.
The Small Stuff
Have a lot of small pieces lying around like beads or buttons? Store them in a pillbox.
Keep Pins Safe
Glue a magnet to the bottom of a dish to put your push pins or needles. It’ll keep them perfectly in place even if you accidently knock the dish.
Keep the Scraps
Instead of throwing out unused scraps of paper; keep them in a magazine holder. You never know when any size paper will come in handy. Buy nine of them so you can color code them for ROY G. BIV, one for black, and one for white.
After your craft room is better organized and everything is put away, you can count on The Cleaning Authority to help keep it clean all year round.
