Meet The Cleaning Authority - Arlington New Owner, David Johnston
David Johnston’s first job was cleaning cars at the age of 14, followed by cleaning, mopping and taking out the trash at a community car dealership after football practice. This early attention to detail and cleanliness would prove to be the start of something meaningful later in life. As he grew older, he spent his time working his way up the ranks for 12 years at a well-known drug store, Walgreens. In his roles there, he took on more and more responsibility, and knowledge. (He was known as “the clean-up man” even waxing the stock room floors.) His last 5 years with Walgreens were spent managing the $50 million business that spanned 6 stores with approximately 200 employees.
David graduated with his master’s degree in business in 2015 and worked as Division President for a property management company for the past 3 years. He was looking for opportunities to purchase a business, eager to start a new journey. The Cleaning Authority ended up being the perfect fit. David truly enjoys the chance to be competitive with other franchise owners, fully immersing himself in the reporting and discovery processes as he strives to stay in the top 10%.
He prides himself on being very familiar with the population growth in his specific market area, as he makes it a point to stay up on Arlington’s growing city. He is most excited about the technology behind the Brand, knowing that The Cleaning Authority is highly supportive of their franchisees.
